Emily Jensen is an educator, dancemaker, and performer in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Emily’s stage and video works excavate the relationships that arise between moving bodies, stationary viewers, and structured space. Her interests also include interdisciplinary works and the amplification of the #MeToo movement and fellow survivors.
Emily is a current graduate student in the MFA in Dance program at Texas Woman’s University. She serves as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Division of Dance and a Graduate Assistant for the Pioneer Pride Dance Team, where she was the inaugural Dance Captain in 2017. She also works as an instructor, choreographer, and adjudicator with Danceline Productions USA. Emily earned her B.A. in Dance Education from TWU in 2020 and her A.A. in Dance from Kilgore College in 2017.
Emily’s choreography has been commissioned by Texas and Oklahoma ISD’s such as Frisco, Northwest, Mansfield, Lake Dallas, and Durant. She has performed locally and nationally in TWU Dance Concerts, American College Dance Association’s Virtual Gala, and National Dance Alliance’s Collegiate Nationals. Emily has studied with artists such as Shelley Wayne, Angela Aulds, Dr. Matthew Henley, Jordan Fuchs, Sarah Gamblin, Mary WillifordShade, Dr. Ilana Morgan, and Jennifer Mabus.
